Vocational and professional guidance

Identification of interests and skills, helping young people with intellectual disabilities to identify their areas of interest and skills, facilitating the choice of jobs that fit their abilities and preferences. And to be able to explore options. Guidance will be provided so that youth can explore different employment options in an informed manner.

They will be prepared for work by providing them with detailed information about what is expected of each position, which increases confidence and reduces anxiety related to job integration. Foster independence by promoting greater independence by enabling young people to have a clear understanding of what is needed and expected of them in the work environment.

Reduce barriers to employment, facilitate access to employment for young people with intellectual disabilities by providing detailed and tailored information that clarifies the expectations and realities of the position.

People with intellectual disabilities, like other people, need training and prior learning to access a job, which provides them with the necessary tools both to prepare them to look for a job and to carry out the assigned tasks once hired. Thanks to the long experience and expertise in this field of FUB’s partners, SUSTENTO and IOVA, a toolkit will be created that is fully designed to meet the real needs of young people with intellectual disabilities and support them during the different steps necessary to find a job.
In addition, these fact sheets will focus on preparing the user for the search for and execution of a job in those industry sectors that best suit their needs and abilities: tourism, manufacturing and healthcare. Training material will be created for young people with intellectual disabilities that will include all the necessary information and explanations in an inclusive way.
